Established in 2005, we are a Scottish-Tanzanian charity that works with local communities in the south west of Tanzania to improve the lives of vulnerable children and their families. Our vision is of a world in which communities work together to achieve a sustainable future free from poverty. We work alongside local communities to deliver programmes that improve children’s education and wellbeing. We currently support more than 150 children and their families.

Community Development Manager

Ester leads the day-to-day activities of Watoto Trust and makes sure all children receive the moral and material support they need. She is determined to help alleviate the suffering of vulnerable children and to encourage them to never give up on their dreams.  She has worked hard to earn the trust of others and is proud to see the difference this is making to children's lives.

Programme Director

Shabani leads the delivery of our programmes in Tanzania to achieve our mission. He liaises with government officials, the community and other stakeholders to ensure the best possible support is provided to vulnerable children and their carers. Shabani is proud to help vulnerable children in his home town and to know that they are gaining opportunities.

Community Worker

Desderia oversees the education programme and works with local activists to identify and support vulnerable children and carers.  She supervises the distribution of materials to families and supports them to improve their living conditions. Desderia wants to give inspiration to children and feels proud to see children get the support they need to thrive. When she sees children smiles, she feels blessed.
